Private, Group, and Ski Wee Lessons
Swain’s Children’s Learning Center (CLC) is a safe and comfortable place, designed for younger children to learn the basic skills of skiing or snowboarding in an age-appropriate environment. Those who teach in the CLC are experienced, early childhood instructors who have a passion for providing children with the fundamentals needed to enjoy a lifetime of skiing or boarding, in a way that is FUN!
What?
Several instructional opportunities are available:
- 1 ½ Hour *Group Lesson, $35 includes lift and lesson, rentals are an additional $16 (available Saturdays and Sundays only) NEW for the 2011-12 Season, CLC 6 Packs for $180!
- 1 Hour *Private Lesson, $65 includes lift and lesson, rentals are an additional $16 (available anytime)
- 3 Hour Ski Wee, $75 Includes lift, private/semi-private lesson, and rentals (available anytime)
Children are supervised throughout the lesson and breaks are taken as needed…hot chocolate and coloring is part of the fun!
*For those who choose the Group or Private option, at the end of the lesson the child is provided with a “report card”, which is shared with the parent, and accomplishments are rewarded with animal pins, such as penguins, seals, bears, moose, and more! A record of the child’s progress is kept on file at Swain for the entire season, so when you return, instruction picks up right where it left off!
Who?
Children ages 3-7, all skill levels are welcome!
When?
Whether you choose a Group, Private, or Ski Wee lesson, please arrive 45 minutes before the lesson time of choice. Lesson slots close 15 minutes before the actual lesson time.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Lesson Times are 10, 12, 2, and 4
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Lesson Times are 2 and 6
How?
Sign up and pay in Guest Services in the main lodge. If renting equipment, proceed to the Rental Shop.
Where?
After signing up and getting rental equipment, children go directly to the Ski School building (next to Ski Patrol), across from the lodge.
