Skiing and Snowboarding in the Monroe County Parks
Powder Mills and Northampton Parks, located within and owned by Monroe County, are both equipped with a gradual ski slope accessed by a single rope tow, an on-site lodge, and are operated by Swain Resort. Each location has rental equipment available and experienced ski and snowboard instructors on-hand, ready to teach you the fundamental skills to enjoy a lifetime of skiing or snowboarding. Lift tickets, lessons, rentals, and small snack items can be purchased in the designated lodges. Powder Mills and Northampton Parks provide an inviting, accessible atmosphere that is comfortable for any beginner. Christmas and President’s Week Camps are available, as well as the popular “Learn To” programs. The “Learn To” programs are designed so that your first three lessons take place at your chosen park and the last lesson at Swain. Many schedule options are available for these programs.
