What’s New in 2011/2012

What’s New At Swain 2011-12:
Snowmaking Expansion, The Shawmut Grille, Espresso Lift Coffee House,
and Slope Side Housing Development

Snowmaking Expansion: Swain’s snowmaking system experienced an expansion that will benefit skiers and riders for the 2011-12 season.  On the west side of the mountain, 3000’ of snowmaking pipe has been installed and thus, trails like Maverick and Zig Zag will open much earlier in the season with ample snow coverage.  The snowmaking fleet increased with the addition of 20 HKD guns that are placed on the mountain and operational.

The Shawmut Grille: Swain’s friendly slope side bar & grill, now The Shawmut Grille, has been relocated and renovated with a stone fireplace and bar along with a warm color palette and light fixtures.  The updated restaurant promises to be a comfortable, lodge-style environment for hungry skiers and their families.  The Shawmut Grille boasts the same delicious menu featuring mouth-watering burgers, paninis, salads, wings, and adult beverages. Wednesday is wing night offering a variety of flavors while Friday evening guests can savor a delicious fish fry or broiled fish dinner complete with soup, salad, and potato. The bar steak is a juicy, sizzling choice for those who prefer a different option. We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the panoramic slope side view and cozy fireplace at the new Shawmut Grille!

The Espresso Lift Coffee House: (located in the former Shawmut) is the perfect place to kick back, relax, and get that extra “lift” for your next run!  Chill out on the sofa by the fireplace and warm up with a fresh latte and a sweet treat. Free wi-fi, beautiful slope side views, good friends, and great Swain service at the Espresso Lift Coffee House!

Development: The slope side development on the west side of the mountain features ski-in ski-out properties on an expanded trail system.  There are 26 properties in the planned expansion as well as new slope side, multi-use trails that are integrated into the development properties.  The slope and trail expansion is themed around Swain’s vision of being a year-round, multi-use resort for downhill skiing, cross county skiing, mountain biking, and hiking right at Swain Resort.  Building lots are now available, the perfect opportunity to invest in your family’s future at Swain.
